New Assignment (One door closes, another one opens)/Possible 1st date.

Hey gang, sorry it took me so long to post a new blog, but I have been busy lately, and alot has happen the past couple of days. Not to worry, I will try to keep it short and to the point. For some of yall who may not know already, my last job assignment working at the KU building ended a week ago due to the low work load. It was in good terms though, everyone there was cool to work with, even a pretty certain lovely lady I have gotten to know over a short period of time. After contacting my employment specialist and telling him what happened with the assignment, the next day I got the call about starting a new assignment needing me to start ASAP. I told him I can start Monday of last week, Now I am working in the funkhouser building in student billing, I will be doing mostly the same I was doing at my other assignment, except this time there is some cash handling, data entry, work on the computer (word, excel, outlook, etc.), filing, customer service, phones, and some counseling, but mostly phones, and spreadsheets. I will be working M-F, 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m. and making $11.47hr (more than what I was making at the other assignment and at Kroger) Even though the assignment is under temporary it could become a regualr position over a period of time. There is a lot of information to learn, especially about the SIS (student information system), SAP (?), IRIS (?). Yup all this was crammed into my head this week and will be again while I am being trained. Whew...Yes I will give it 90 days to learn it, get comfortable with it and for it to sink in gradually. The people that work there are a cool team to work with, they are like family there. I feel blessed to be a part of a cool hard working team. Tuesday Jan. 2nd will be the day to prove my self to them, thats when things will start getting busy (As Han Solo from star wars said "Here is where the fun begins.") This is a start towards a good opportunity for me, all in all it's been swell this week. (when one door closes, another door opens.) Stop by and holla next semester.

One other good thing happened to me last week, I have a date put into motion for next weekend with lail, the lovely lady who is a student at UK and whom I worked with at the KU building. I asked out to dinner (Malone's) and a movie for next weekend (I just realized new years is next weekend) I guess could call it a new years eve date. I am calling her this weekend to wish her a Merry Christmas, etc. (she is out of town this weekend spending christmas with her folks).

I feel blessed that things are starting to fall into place (praise god)...There was one point I didn't think it would ever happened (that's in the past now), but through prayer, paitience, determination, discipline. I am getting a better sense of guidence, independence, and direction of what god has planned for me. No matter what the opportunity is I am never going to run away from it, I am going go all the way and make it happen. (The ball is in my court and I am ready to play)

P.S. My boss at UK got the Deal or No Deal DVD as a present for Christmas and yesterday some of the co-workers and I were playing the game. (It was slow there in the office anyway, it did helped pass the time though) When I was playing it (I never played the game before, but I have seen one or two episodes of the show, I know that object of the game is to get rid of the lowest amounts that is inside the cases first to better ur chances of win the million dollar prize.) That's what I did, Case number 6 (the month I was born in was my case, I figured had the million dollar stash) At first as I was playing the game, I had a little bad start at first, picking some of the case that had large amounts first instead of the lower ones, but the million dollar ones was still in play through out the whole game. (which was a good sign.) As it came down to the wire, the banker made me an offer of $300,000 plus, and said no deal (the million dollars was still in play and it was down to two cases, 9 and 19 (I thought to myself, sometimes it's in one of these two cases, so I went with case number 19 and unfortunately it had the million dollars in it. I did ended up winning $50,000, nothing to sneeze at though. To bad it wasn't real though. During the entire game play, I was speechless at how well I was doing, first time playing of course. That game can be fun and intense at some point. Yall just had to be there.

Catch of the day

After getting encouragement from T. Wehrle, J. Wiley, BC, and E. Walters on posting a creative blog about random daily stuff that happens in my life, I decided to give it a try and post about my dinner with four fellow brothers in Christ at Long John Silvers. Here it goes...

After bible study, T. Wehrle, J. Wiley, BC, E. Walters, and I decided to go and get a bite to eat at Long John Silvers (Burger King was E. Walters first choice, but Wiley didn't have a taste for B.K., so he and the rest of us went for Long John Silvers instead, while E. Walt went for his usual plain big n tasty with ketchup and extra ketchup on the side for dipping purposes.) Anyway back to the Fish dinner and random conversation at LJS...After Wiley, Cooper, and I (Wehrle, didn't order anything) ordered our fish baskets, in came Walters with his B.K and we all sat down and ate...Halfway through the meal random conversation started. I will try to remember the conversation to the best of my knowledge so here it goes....Wiley, Cooper, and Wehrle asked Walters what else he keeps in the famous little black bag along with the ensure E.Walters drinks after every meal, so in one compartment we see him take out a ziplock bag with a bunch of other medication (for his alergies, etc.), then in another compartment, we see him take out a pic of D.C. (don't ask), and two pics of something he built and painted...It was random conversation about what he keeps in that bag he carries with him....It was all good though. Then before we left, I heard E. Walters whisper something to us about seeing two cows....um, uhh, (I am not going to say that word on this blog, so to play it safe I will say mating) yes thats what those two cows were doing, they were mating. (producing offspring, kids; yall get the picture) After hearing E. Walters ask about that, I assumed that it was something he saw two animals doing and never saw before. (don't ask) (Just another random E. Walters moment; u had to be there.) (Yall gotta love him.)

All in all it was an all good dinner and random conversation with four awesome fellow brothers in Christ. Just like Bryce told me "We're family here" He is right, thats how it is good times and fellowship.

God is Awesome.

Thanks again to T. Wehrle, B. Coop, J. Wiley, and E. Walters for encouraging me to write something inspiring that happens through out my day. Tell me how I did on my post Taylor.
